Almost punctual to Christmas time (yeah for those of you who forgot, today is the 1st advent. Thank to Martin by the way for remembering me also…
) it seems the temperatures are falling!
The local weather service Wetterring.at’s forecast tells that today the temperatures will climb up to 20°C. But starting tomorrow it is going to be colder! Already tomorrow they forecast snow in an altitude down to 600 meters and on Tuesday down to 500 meters. This will happen “quicktime”, so people of Vorarlberg, get out your winter clothes!!
I don’t know about you (if you like, you can share your thoughts in the comment section below), but I like Christmas time, and I like snow. So I wish all of you a nice first advent and also a nice pre-christmas time

At the Atlanta Linux Fest 2009, Mark Shuttleworth announced via video the codename of the Ubuntu version 10.04, coming out in April next year. The name will be “Lucid Lynx“.
Lucid sounds great, but I would be happier with Llama instead of Lynx. But I know that the OS is going to be LEGENDARY anyway
Lucid Lynx will be the next LTS (Long Term Support) version of Ubuntu: 3 years support for the edition and 5 years for the server edition.

Today is a big day for all Beatles fans: All 13 Beatles albums came out today in a digitally remastered edition.
It’s possible to either buy the albums separately or the collecter’s box with all 13 albums plus extra material like videos etc.
I can’t tell so much about those remastered tracks because I haven’t heard them, but I am definitely going to hear one or the other remastered piece

… by using your body as an antenna!
Some time ago, I read somewhere on the Internet that you can enhance the signal strength of your remote car keys by putting it at your throat. And I saw a YouTube video which shows it. But I didn’t believe that. But now …

This is not an article to tell you “OH MY GOD, MICHAEL JACKSON DIED”, because I believe you all know that by now. This article is more to show what can happen to the Internet in such a situation.
If you like to travel and take often a ride with the train in Germany, you will be interested in this:
Tschibo sells DB tickets – 6 tickets for 160€. So if you use it often, this is a great opportunity to get very cheap tickets. They will be valid from the 15.06.2009 to the 31.08.2009 in whole Germany. But not on Fridays (yeah I know… weird
).
It is time again… the days are going to be longer.
I hope you did not forget to put daylight saving on your clocks this night. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, at 2am, the time switched to 3am. “What? They stole 1 hour of my precious sleep?” – Yes they did! But you are getting ALL back the 25th of October. Because on that day at 3am, you gain 60 of your precious minutes back!
I had one unexpected thing I didn’t thought about. My girlfriend in Mexico is still in wintertime. There the time changes the 5th of April. Until then we are separated 8 hours instead of 7. I really never thought about that before…
Today, surfing the internet, I found an incredible “eco” gadget at yankodesign.com called The Timeless Garden.
It is a clock which is powered by mother nature. It uses a chemical reaction between metal and mud to produce power. And the frame is produced of recycled. I am impressed by how good this little, modern gadget looks like.
The Timeless Garden is maybe not saving our planet and you have to take care to provide your clock with power (don’t let it drying-out) but for all of us who want to join the “green side”, this would be a first step
I think it looks like a “Mac” product… like an iClock or something;)
